About The South Coast And Northern Lights Experience

Experience the south coast of Iceland, one of the most scenic routes in the country with a local guide and professional landscape photographer. I will take you from the Reykjavik capital area through the lava fields of the Reykjanes peninsula to the delightful scenery of the south coast, all the way to the village of Vík.

This trip is for someone who would like to see the most famous locations of the Icelandic south coast in just one day. I will make you experience the magnificent and scenic locations of the south of Iceland in a personal way. I will drive and guide you, take photos of your visit, help you take photos and make sure you are wearing the right clothing. Basically, I am your local professional guide and photographer traveling with you on your speed.

You’ll visit places like Kleifarvatn Lake, the largest lake on Reykjanes and a peaceful spot on the fissure zone of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. Then, Krísuvík geothermal field, a steamy place of hot springs and bubbling mud pots not far from the lake and nearby Strandakirkja church.

Next, after a lunch break, you’ll pass by Kirkjufjara beach near a popular puffin nesting area, the charming village of Vik, and Reynisfjara black beach on the coast.

Then you will have the "waterfall experience" visiting the famous Skogafoss waterfall, Seljalandsfoss waterfall with its walking path taking you behind the water, and Gljúfrabúi waterfall.

Finally, if atmospheric conditions are right and the skies are clear, we can search the skies for Northern Lights on the way back to Reykjavik (northern lights season is from mid-September to mid-April).

Grab this opportunity to see the beautiful south coast and the Northern Lights in one exciting day!

About the host

I have always considered myself an artistic person and I have always been involved in art in one way or another. Photographing is an exciting form of expression for me and I love capturing everyday moment with a moody feeling to it. For me the storytelling of a photo is very important and I try to connect with people’s emotion through my photography. Subjects like Landscapes with dramatic clouds, captivating sunlight’s, moody winter scene and the beautiful Northern Lights are a special interest to me.
