About the Creative Writing Workshop inspired by Icelandic Folk Stories
Since the settlement of the Vikings in Iceland, Icelanders have told fantastic tales of their strange encounters with the many peculiar supernatural beings with which they share the land. They are everywhere in nature and if you use your creative mind you could very well see them.
We will start this session with quick and easy warm-up games or icebreakers where people will get to know each other a bit better. We will then go on to a journey into the world of Icelandic elves, trolls and hidden people. I will tell a folk tale and then explain about our believes related to those hidden creatures.
After that, and if the weather is reasonable, we will go for a short walk searching for elves and hidden people in nature and use our imagination to find them. When we come back I will give some prompt that are inspired by the folklore and the walk. After the people have written their own folklore or whatever the spirit of Iceland will inspire them to write about they might share their work or their experience of our time together.

I´m an actress, storyteller, drama teacher and a writer. I have been running workshops in acting, storytelling and creative writing and love seeing people blossom when they rediscover their creative talents.
